The Chinese Language Programme offers a series of extracurricular online seminars to assist our students with their study of Chinese or understanding of the Chinese culture and society. Some seminars are conducted by our teachers, others by guest speakers and still others by our students. Most seminars are held in the evenings. We welcome your suggestions about topics that are of interest to a broad audience. Please send your suggestions to ho@un.org.

The platform we use to deliver the seminars is WebEx, which has a limit of 30 attendees per session. All the seminars are free, but advance registration is required. Many seminars will be recycled. So if you can't register for a seminar because if it is full, chances are it will be offered again.

Once you have registered for a seminar, you will receive an invitation by email with instructions as to how to join the session. At the scheduled time, you can log in by following the link provided in your invitation. You will then be able to see the presenter and his or her presentation. You will also be able to interact with the presenter and fellow attendees. We have two channels to deliver the audio: skype and the UN conference call. The UN conference call number will be provided in your invitation. If you have a skype ID, you can receive the audio via skype without having to use the UN conference call. If you choose this option, please email your skype ID to ho@un.org.
